About this Universal Tower Defense Z site

TL;DR
I am Jim Liu. I build guide sites for Roblox games, and I built this one because every Universal Tower Defense site on the first page of Google covers the same two things, codes and a tier list, and none of them gives a single unit its own page or admits which numbers they never checked. Those two gaps are the entire product.

Why this site exists

The honest version, which is less inspiring than the usual one.

I went looking for information about this game the way any player does, by searching for it, and I found the same page written eight times. Codes at the top, a tier list underneath, a paragraph of introduction that tells you it is a tower defense game on Roblox as though you had arrived by accident.

What I could not find was a page about a unit. Not a row in a table, a page. Where it comes from, what it pairs with, where it stops being good, whether the person writing about it had used it. That is the thing a player actually wants at the moment they pull something and have to decide whether to invest in it, and nobody was writing it.

So there are 115 unit pages here and there will be more. That is the first gap. The second one is smaller and matters more to me: nobody says what they did not check. Every tier list online reads as though its author has personally cleared every stage with every unit. They have not, I have not, and I would rather write that down than perform an expertise I do not have. So when a page here does not know something, it says so in a box, in the middle of the page, where you cannot miss it.

I also write in the open about how these sites get built and ranked, which is why my GitHub is below rather than hidden. If it turns out I am wrong about something on this site, that is the fastest way to tell me.

The three rules I write under

They cost me pages, and that is the point of them.

  1. No invented numbers. Not a drop rate, not a wave count, not a shard cost. If I cannot name where a number came from, the number does not go on the page. This is why several pages here have visible holes in them.
  2. Say which source I followed. The tier lists I started from disagree with each other. When they do, the page says which verdict I kept and why, instead of averaging two guesses into a third one.
  3. State the downside. A unit page that only lists strengths is an advertisement. Every one here has a section about where the unit fails, and if I do not know where it fails yet, it says that instead.

What I will get wrong

Stated in advance so you can calibrate how much to trust this.

Tiers are opinions dressed as data, including mine. I build them from published community lists and my own play, and a patch can invalidate both overnight. Update 4.0 did exactly that on 9 July 2026 and it will happen again.

Codes rot. I check them and date them and pull the dead ones fast, but there will be windows where the list on this site is wrong for a few hours, and I would rather you know that than assume the page is a live feed.

And I have not tested every unit. There are 115 of them and one of me. The unit pages say which ones I have run myself and which ones I am reporting from sources, because those are two very different claims and most sites present them identically.

Disclosure

The part every fan site should have and most bury.

This is an unofficial fan site. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or associated with Roblox Corporation, and it is not affiliated with or endorsed by Universal Tower Defense [UTD], the group that develops the game. Roblox and the Roblox logo are trademarks of Roblox Corporation. All game names, unit names and imagery belong to their respective owners.

The official places to get information from the developer are the Discord and the Roblox group. There is no active Trello board, whatever the older guides say, and the community page goes into that.

Nothing here is a substitute for the game itself. If a number on this site matters to a decision you are about to spend real progress on, check it in game, and then tell me if I got it wrong.
